Description
Say hello to one of my betta boys, Bartók.
I bought him as a female, but soon understood so was not the case. I have never
been really fond of him, if I have to admit. It was simply because he never flared or
showed any potential or anything. He has been in a 300 liter tank together with
females (no worries, there is no fights between my betta's) and like I said, he never
flared, he never showed dominance. He simply kept to himself by the leaves at the
surface. The only impressing thing about him is his size. He is HUGE!
BUT. Tonight I decided it was time to try and take some photo's of him (I have
never taken pictures of him before), so I removed him from the big tank and down to
the male tank where each betta has 20 liter to themselves.
At at first when introduced to the mirror he had no idea what to do. He simply sneaked
around with his fins up tight peeking at the mirror but too unsure to do anything about it.
I checked on him after 1 hour with the mirror and bless me, he was flaring. Like a MANIAC!
And that's when I saw something I have never seen before on him. Those ventral fins!
They are golden/cooper/green with a beautiful pattern to it. He has black edges to his fins,
and on his dorsal fin he has tiny little black spots. I am sorry dear Bartók for ever doubting you
and your potential
