My Betta Community by Jullelin My Betta Community by Jullelin
Yes, this is my betta community :aww:
I am sure I have forgotten to photograped some females, since they are about 10 by this time xD

In my community I have, doubletails, veiltails, crowntails and halfmoons.

Top 3 pictures
First picture: This is my Crowntail male Vivaldi ^^ He is very hard to photograph since he dosen't like the camera xD But he is one beautiful thing when the flash reflecs his scales 0o
Second Picture: My plakat male, who is in my big tank together with all my betta females. He is a fiesty thing LOL Though, he is rather nice to the ladies but if he meets a male... it is kill or be killed. And this bastard will kill. I bought him as a female and learned the hard lesson when he killed my crowntail male Tchaikovsky who inhabbited the large tank earlier. Yes. The petstores do make misstakes when selling.
Third Picture: We all know this guy by now ^^ Chopin is under his bubblenest which he is currently building for his two lady visitors who is the two ladies in the middle to the right ;D

Six bottom Pictures
This is all my females. I have a good community with nicely behaved ladies even if they flash fins at each other at times. But I have never seen them play unfair. And if they would... there are loads of seeweed, grass, caves etc to hide among ^^

I am so proud over my community, and I can't wait until I can breed two of my females which has the dragon gene :wow:
It's the two females in the bottom middle (the red and the golden/steel colored ones).

I believe that my entire community of bettas has cost me... *counts in head*

...

...163 USD... 126 Euros... if I have calculated it right xD
It's expencive to have bettas of good quality LOL

few years ago I had a gorgeous, fiesty betta, he was dark face and body (can't remember if it was chocolate brown/rust, or bluer, slate grey.. but dark. With peach fins and tail. sooo pretty. Might have had red streaks, I don't remember for sure.

Thank you.
All of my bettas has black vs white mosquitofry, bloodworms, cyclope and flakefood in their diet ^^ And for those who likes it, also get some Tetra Pleco Wafers (if they want it). So, my bettas has a highly variated diet xD

wow they wont get bored any time soon lol, you do a good job with them. your also very lucky to have the different breeds, here in england if you want anything other than a vail tail you would have to get it shiped over seas. :/

Im glad you think so ^^ They all have enough room and loads of hiding places if they want's to be alone.
That's a shame. Sure, Veiltails can be beautiful. But once you have seen the other versions, veiltails becomes rather dull. I am acctualy concidering to import some bettas from Thailand. It's just a thought, but it sure would be fun to import something that no one else has and start a breeding program.

yeah i would love to import a betta, but i dont have the tank space for any more :/ i keep mine at work with all the other animals, but it would be cool to have a different breed.

Torn fins aside (don't you hate those nips? lol) You have some lovely colored ladies and handsome fellows.

This is my favorite male, my orange dragon. Hopefully he'll be the father of my next spawn. (He just didn't seem to get the courting thing down. He and the female were content to sit under an Indian almond leaf together.) [link]

Oh, they certainly are gorgeous. Vivaldi closely resembles my Blitzkrieg except for Vivaldi being a crowntail and mine being a veiltail. Blitz is also a little bit darker unless you shine a light on him.

Thank you. Yeah, my camera focuses over and over again. I don't know if it is the water that makes it act like that. But I also get blurred pics at times.

Hihi, no secrets here LOL I have heard that males can be together... but for that you need a REALLY HUGE tank. Nothing to recomend though xD

Yeah, nothing to recommend xD

I saw a siamese fighter in a pet shop hop over to a neighbouring tank to fight with a resident male fighter... pointed it out to an assistant and he moved one three tanks down so he wouldn't hop over again.

I've noticed when they inhabit display tanks they follow each other through the glass and display, I've seen some have injuries by charging the glass.
