Duracelle had only arrived to Rosendal when William decided to enter her in her first race ever.
She had seemed fit and fresh when she arrived from England this spring as a fully trained 2 year old.
Though, today she didn't look like she was fully trained at all. She was nervous in the paddock and
jumped skittishly around whenever something was happening. This was no good start for the season
and William saw that now. Duracelle was confused throughout the entire race and lost her pace several
times as the track went up and down tiny slopes. It looked several times as if she would tumble and fall.
She had no chance in the final stretch as she was out of breath, and a defeat was only to be expected.
William didn't even see the stretch, he headed down to the stables before seeing of she made it or not.
He knew she wouldn't last the last 500 meters.

"Duracelle will follow to the next show in the company of another horse." William was leaning against the
big truck as Shiro loaded the exhausted black filly. "I know she can do better than this."
"It was her first time out there, maybe she just needs to get used to it." Shiro gave Duracelle a little stroke
along her neck. It was okay to be nervous the first time after all. She would do better as soon as she got the
hang of it.
