Personality

Rum Sun N Sand was bought in Great Britain when Sara and William was there for a visit. William fell in love and bought Rum, despite Sara’s disagreement.

This is a reliable horse to work and be around. He has lots of patient, but when it runs out he get’s extremely bored. He loves to play and mess around and is often seen with his overlip raised, showing his front teeth for the viewer. He “talks” and answers to human speech. He snorts, neighs and stomps the ground, as if he answer.
He is a born leader and knows he is a prince. He is not old enough to believe he is the king, but he sure behaves as if he has plans on being that someday. He is not fond of other horses and especially mares. They seem to make him unfocused. The same with children. It’s not that he is mean, but since he is rather eager he can easily bump into them and trample them.
Rum enjoys to take the command and follow his own way, so the rider has to be firm and may not be afraid to be harsh on him.

Rum has a beautiful exterior with a pair of strong legs and a rather thick neck with a very expressive head. His walk is flowing, trot strutting and bumpy, canter bumpy and the gallop ground winning. He can jump, but not very high. He is easy to lunge and he does the work all by himself since it is only he who runs. He decides everything himself.

Rum enjoys to be spoiled with cuddles and attention. He especially enjoys to be groomed out in his pasture under one of the trees. If you groom him long enough he will fall asleep standing with his lips dangling of his mouth.
He is not a fan of being shaved or get his mane and tail braided. He will cause a fuss and you will have a very hard time making him stand still. He is very glad for eating and respects the one who is feeding him. He doesn’t corner you when fed, he simply wait until he is permitted to eat.
Out in the pasture Rum is relaxed for the most if he isn’t trotting around. He is a fan of sleeping and enjoys the most to sleep with a human leaning on his neck, sleeping too.

Rum has no problem to be ridden inside but he prefers to be outside. He is safe in the traffic but only if he is alone. When out with other horses he forgets the traffic and get’s scared if a car comes up very suddenly.

Rum is going through training and we are eager to see how he will perform under Koda Ferrigno.
