I'm only human, and she was not more than one horse. But she was THE horse. She was the sunrise for Rosendal, she helped the buisness and made so Rosendal could see it’s glourious days.

I met Devil Wears Prada when I worked in a racingstable. She was just the horse that you noticed. But her conformation was not proper for a thoroughbred. She was condemned from the beginning. She reminded more of a ridinghorse than a racehorse. She attended at practices, but they were not taken seriously. She ran only to train the inexperienced riders. She could run, but she had no real action in her leaps. She was out of focus, looking at the long side of the track when she passed.

I felt something special for the horse. She had potential if she only could get a proper chance to prove it. I spoke with the manager that evening and suggested to race her. He thought it was unnecessary money to pay for a hopeless case. Therefore I offered my money. My salary. So sure, I was sure about it. The owner agreed to it but when I offered him a deal he hesitated.
If she would win a Grade 1 race, she would be given to me. After a lot of if’s and but’s the owner agreeded and then it was up to proof.

I spent all available time with Devil Wears Prada. I socialized and trained her. Showed her the horse she was, gave her confidence and well, when she started her first race she won with horselengths. She continued her triumphal progress until she won her first G1 race. Happiness was complete when the ownership certificates were given to me. Devvie was boarded in the stable for a long time, throughout her active career.

When she left the track I decided to get my own organization. I searched for a long time untill I found a stable called Rosendal. This was the place for me. Devvies prize money made so I could start the stable and buy more talented horses.

Devil Wears Prada is the basis of Rosendal stables. Without her the stables would have never been what it is today. Her bloodlines are still in the stables and thrive. Let’s hope her bloodline never will die out.
