It had been so close to a victory in Shiro's and Chimeras last race, but they were defeated by half a length when a faster horse came up from behind and managed to rally past Chimera. Shiro had been a little annoyed by this fact, but soon was pretty happy with a second place. It was no shame in coming second.
But after she had raced 2 times without a win, William decided to test blinkers on her, because maybe she got distracted when horses came up from behind or something.

But today he felt like Chimera was really fit for fight and more than eager to run at the track. She seemed to like the track in Göteborg even though this was her first time being here. They were here for the Empire Derby which was a listed race for young newly started thoroughbreds.
Josephine was Shiro and Chimeras new helper and handler, since Shiro's little sister Kei had left for RPS past weekend, so Josephine had been assigned Chimera as her handler.

As the favorites in the race, Shiro and Chimera rounded the final curve with the rest of the pack. She was lying 4th when Shiro urged her on to pass the inner horse as they entered the final stretch. There was not much audience, so it was rather quiet, but all Shiro heard was the thunder of the pack as they all stretched out towards the finish.
"Go! Go! Go!" shouted Shiro and showed the filly the whip to ask for some more effort before someone would sneak up behind and take over the little lead.

Finally Chimera has won. Twice Such a good girl she is.
And I find the title very funny, since she surely is a freak with her coloration xD I am sure that if a chimera thoroughbred would enter a racetrack all eyes would be on that horse and slightly concidered a freak of nature xD /but a mighty beautiful such)

I was many times so close to scrap this drawing... but I am glad I didn't, since it came out awesome
