To the Rescue

The rain lashed Xanthus in his eyes as insects during the summer, just as annoying. But he continued to run. The wet grass was wet and slippery. Xanthus slipped from time to time, but remained his balance again. He could feel the presence of Nidra. She could not be far away now.

-Xanthus!
He pricked up his ears when he heard the scream from the woods as he approached. Nidra! He pressed himself to increase the speed, but his legs could not go any faster. He ran up to the woods, squeezed his way through the branches and made his way among the trees.

- Nidra?! Xanthus cried desperately. He heard a scream.
-Xanthus! He jumped over a small creek and headed towards the sound. He stopped abruptly when he reached a small clearing. He froze and became paralyzed, then his anger took over. He screamed with disgust and went to attack.
